80th Birthday

Grandma Rebecca Pauline Egbert Howell turned 80 on the 9th of October, so the family orchestrated a big birthday bash to celebrate her and her life. Audrey and Paul had been working on the "Howell Legacy" film for nearly three years getting ready for the big day. Its red curtain debu was a grand success. Let's just say that Moose Audio Productions has fans scattered across the states now (okay, mostly Washington, Idaho and Utah).  Grandma looked beautiful. It's astounding how sharp her mind is. When we first got to town our clan went over to see her. She got a phone call and when asked who was visiting she proceeded to go around the room and talk about all twelve people there, and the one who hadn't made it yet. She is still cracking jokes and smiling at life.  Ashton got comfy on her lap several times. She loved her long, long fingernails. In fact, she tried to swallow one before we all realized how dangerous the situation had grown.

My cousins Teneille and Kennalee transformed some of great grandma's embroidered pillowcases into cute dresses for all the great grand daughters. In the third photo, grandma Pauline is surrounded by all her great grand kids. Addison, on Pauline's left knee was born March 1st. I'm pretty sure my baby girl is bigger than her already!

This photo of four generations was taken at my great grandfather (Ashton's great, great grandfather's) house. Nana Nette pointed out that when Amy and I were wee babes a similar photo was taken with four generations in the same spot. Pretty neat.

It was nice to get a little taste of the cold weather in Ashton. It snowed all four days we were there, although didn't manage to stick at all. It really put living in the rainshadow into perspective. It was fun to get baby Izzi dolled up in her cute sweater, but I'm glad I don't have to battle the layers on a daily basis. It was nice to get home to Sequim.
