Ashton started the morning in her St. Pat's onsie from Glamma. Later I added the green pants I made her, but after grocery shopping when everyone called her a cute little boy I quickly put her in one of the dresses that Aunt Nan made for the rest of the day.
this past Tuesday. Because of WASL testing I had the day off (block scheduling) which was very convenient. Ashton and I spent a good part of the morning making authentic Irish stew (with Guinness and red wine--who would have thought?!). At any rate...the alcohol turned out to be the true secret "Irish" ingredient. My stew finally tasted like the bowls I'd slurp up on the ol' Emerald Isle. We also baked some Irish soda bread and rosemary cookies.

I don't know how many of you know it, and this is not something I really go around flaunting, as I think it is a little "white-trashy," but Jake loves...no really...LOVES...pudding pie. Ha. Yeah. So, we whipped up some chocolate puddin' pie too. Good thing Izzi's been working the whisk! As you can see in the photos, she has become quite the little helper in the kitchen.
I'm not sure if the second photo is authentic. Did Ashton really have her fingers up her "Da's" nose? Hummmm. I guess they both like to ham it up sometimes.

Ashton woke up with a little dance and song for her Poppie on his big day!
So, I don't know how many of you know it, but Teanaway, yes our cat, has the same birthday as Jake. She turned 9 this past week....and still looks like our little "keetan." I think Baby A is trying to suck in her cheeks like Miss Mao in the above shot. Ahh, the many faces of my lil' angel.

Powell, Laura and Win came over to share the Irish feast with us and celebrate Jake's day. Powell brought this ballon with him that says "Kiss me I'm Irish." Ashton wouldn't let it go. She held it the entire time we sat at the table enjoying dinner and conversation. She kept looking up and pointing at the frog and smirking. It was pretty funny.
