After two weeks of hosting friends and family during the festival we settled into some alone time with our home. Helen inspired me to rethink the sour attribute of my pie cherries. I rediscovered how delicious they really can be and so we spent some time harvesting the fruit. (It's been a few years; lately I've just "given" them to the birds.) You can see in the picture that Ashton has a love-hate relationship with them as well. On this occasion we made cherry rolls (much like a cinnamon roll, but with cream cheese and sour cherries. Yes, we just made up the recipe.) Izzi really likes rolling the dough.
Ashton has been begging to paint her toes, and I finally broke down and indulged her girly-girl side. She loves them. She's been showing them off to everyone.
Uncle Tyler sent us a funny YouTube clip with a guy orgasmically acknowledging a "double rainbow" while he was out in the woods camping. Ashton watched it with us, and with all her perception, has started using the phrase liberally. We first heard her squeal with delight, "Double rainbow!" when she was playing with her Peoples, but it has reared it's funny head in other places too. I thought I'd snap a quick photo of our coincidental purchase--her rainbow shorts. I like her cute little panties peaking out the back. Potty training is going quite well, although we still have our "accidents" now and again.
We harvested our first cabbage head from our garden and Ashton went wild for it. She gave it several big hugs and then picked up her broccoli and began painting the cabbage with it.

Ms. Isadora has really taken to "dressing up" these days. She changes her outfit several times each afternoon, and always adds a little "princess" flair to boot.

Our tadpoles have turned into frogs and Ashton loves hunting them down and toting them around the yard all day. Sometimes I get a little worried for the poor things. She just can't resist their charm.
